Creating Light with Kelsey

Jun 24, 2021

In this episode, I dive into the raw data from Week 1 of my study, "Self-Care after Trauma: A heuristic inquiry using Art Therapy, Journaling, and Dream reflection." The raw data consists of all my art pieces, journal entries, and documented dreams that was expressed for the duration of the 5 week study. Within this first week I got straight to the root of my trauma. I reflected back on how it all started. I began to understand how my views of gender and sexuality were immediately skewed by my environment, and how I was lead to believe it was normal.

Before this study, I was not aware of all of the toxic beliefs I had adopted in regards to gender and sexuality. These self-care practices gave me the opportunity to start unpacking my beliefs while confronting my feelings about being a survivor.
